Paraguay’s Meat Exports Hit Record Numbers in January 2025

In January 2025, Paraguay saw a 40% surge in meat exports, with Chile, Taiwan, and Israel leading as the top buyers.

In January 2025, Paraguay’s meat and meat products exports reached USD 184.7 million, with a total volume of 52.5 million kilograms, according to the National Service of Quality and Animal Health (SENACSA). This figure represents a nearly 40% increase compared to the same period last year, when exports totaled USD 137.3 million.

Beef emerged as the primary export product, with 26.3 million kilograms shipped to 32 countries, generating revenues of USD 148.3 million. Chile maintained its position as the leading destination, purchasing 37% of total exports, equivalent to 9.5 million kilograms valued at USD 59.6 million. Taiwan followed with 3.5 million kilograms worth USD 20.7 million, and Israel imported 2.1 million kilograms for USD 13.2 million. The United States and Brazil also stood out as significant markets, importing 1.7 and 1.0 million kilograms, respectively.

Beef offal exports reached 5.5 million kilograms shipped to 22 countries, generating USD 9.5 million. Russia led imports in this category with 1.6 million kilograms valued at USD 2.8 million, followed by Taiwan and Egypt.

Pork exports demonstrated strong performance, with 959,627 kilograms shipped, generating revenues of USD 2.5 million. Taiwan emerged as the primary buyer, purchasing 631,552 kilograms worth USD 2.0 million, followed by Uruguay and Georgia.

The poultry sector exported 802,321 kilograms, representing revenues of USD 955,116. These results reflect the growing demand and market diversification for Paraguayan meat products.

The significant increase in meat and meat products exports during January 2025 highlights the competitiveness and quality of Paraguayan meat production in the international market. The diversification of destinations and strengthening of trade relations with countries such as Chile, Taiwan, Israel, and the United States contribute significantly to the country’s economic development.
